@ingrid I like your post. About "wives," my program had some small panel talks where more experienced grad students offered tips to newer ones. At one on time management, the panel kept advising negotiating the sharing of housework. Then I noticed the panel were all married and all the audience but one were single. (genders mixed in both places)

I spoke up about it; I don't remember what they replied, so it probably wasn't much.
