my advisor's main concern is that my memo is too comprehensive and my committee won't be able to come up with questions for me
this is not helping with my assessment that this shit is hazing pure and simple

@philnelson like I shouldn't make them have to think too hard so I need to leave some obvious gaps/places to elaborate. I guess? This is all very silly.

@ingrid @philnelson this is a time honored technique when dealing with management or clients. Craft your presentation such that there's something obvious, like a perfect design with one thing that's the wrong color or left vague. The answer will be obvious and they'll mention it and you'll fix it and everyone's happy. Otherwise they feel like they need to really dig in and do real hard things in order to have any feedback
