On the one hand I remain adamant that computers should try new shapes because there are too many rectangles. On the other hand, we all seem to agree that computer orb is bad. Must find a new computer shape that pleases the people
@ingrid Trapezoid-to-folded-hexagon laptop with high quality built-in speakers.
Alternatively, laptop that is perfectly square, just to be a little unnerving.
Modularly scaleable computer that is a dodecahedron with interfaces on the faces. Just stack them up together as many as you need. Cooling is a problem, so shell should be a heat sink, and there could be special cooling units that have the same shape with passthrough for the interfacing.
Basic idea: The dodecahedron stands stable, and still it can be packed into a tight lattice.
But yeah, cubes are probably better for this - but more space would be wasted on cooling units, whereas with 12 sides, one cooling unit can potentially cool 12 other units instead of 6.
@ingrid it should tile well
@ingrid I vote frog shape
