@kit @christa i was riffing on a thing george lucas said in an interview (link elsewhere in the thread), so i dunno? i wouldn't be surprised if it's specifically designed propaganda, though, since it does a great job of forcing conservatives to accept AI for identity politics reasons ("well if it's just like cars, i can't be *against* it! cars is the american way of life!!")

@aparrish @kit @christa maybe we can recast it as being like public transportation (you have to pay a fee to distant elites to use it, they keep changing the rules on you, always the danger of having to talk to a weirdo) so they are forced to reject it for identity politics reasons.
