why do people keep laughing when I tell them I'm doing a PhD because it's not like I have anything better to do
@platypus ah, sure, though I mostly mean it in the context of my repeated failure to get a real job
@ingrid It makes sense. And for mom her "hm what should I do" ended up with a PhD too.
@ingrid it is a BIT like the time my mom told me that between college and PhD she took linear algebra because "it sounded like fun"
