feeling grateful that a friend in DC offered to bring my mom weed because she doesn't want to take the oxycodone that her doctor prescribed her for post-spinal surgery (turns out she also took oxy after her knee replacement and it gave her insane vivid nightmares, which is a thing?)

i was recently released from the hospital with an oxy prescription for pain (long story) here in SF, CA. i had a good conversation with my surgery team about weed as a replacement, since i typically don’t take pain meds and use weed instead, but there was no way they were going to prescribe weed. they laid out some common sense ground rules (don’t mix oxy+weed on the same day, don’t smoke since it hurts your lungs) and let me on my way.

@ingrid I brought my mom weed gummies for her chemo a couple years ago but we/she had to hide them from my dad because he disapproves of all drugs (pot and oxy alike)

I wonder/would not be that surprised if it's easier for most doctors to prescribed oxy than weed for pain relief even in places where it's legal
anyway excited to watch my mom blaze it lol
