Completely obsessed with this note from the SDS records finding aid at the Wisconsin Historical Society, which is darkly hilarious given its history: "These records are incomplete and confusingly arranged for a variety of reasons. The organizational structure of SDS was such that few people remained in the national offices long enough to provide for continuity of record-keeping." https://digicoll.library.wisc.edu/cgi/f/findaid/findaid-idx?c=wiarchives;view=reslist;subview=standard;didno=uw-whs-mss00177;focusrgn=C01;cc=wiarchives;byte=435351555

@ingrid It's so good. I can't stop laughing. I wish there was more contemporary stuff written about the good/bad/ugly legacy of the SDS, like along the lines of Vivian Gornick's book on the CPUSA. Maybe it's out there and I just haven't encountered it yet!
