watching an old video of bill clinton from a 1996 event and i know we do not gotta hand it to him but really disarmed to remember how well he understood the value of talking like a regular fucking person as a politician
@ingrid I watched the movie Spin (1995) in October and had a very similar feeling. (It's assembled from home recordings of satellite feeds)
@ingrid He went on Letterman in the W era and I damn near swooned when he was able to put coherent, logical sentences together. Republicans man, killing the language for a quarter century. I still ain't handing it to Bill though.

The standards certainly have declined. It's not even required any more to *pretend* that you are decent person or have some honesty.
