https://thearmed.bandcamp.com/album/the-future-is-here-and-everything-needs-to-be-destroyed in 2016 I posted a photo I took of an electronics shredder company's trade show booth and the photo went viral bc of the company's incredible slogan and today I learned an extremely good punk band used it as the title for their new album, who says posting never leads to anything good
@ingrid "The Future Is Here And Everything Needs To Be Destroyed" was the laugh I needed today.
In these digital document days it's "data retention" which actually means a countdown to destruction, or at least a countdown to unavailability for legal evidence discovery.
@ingrid who's a shredding industry icon NOW
@ingrid Ow, my ears. And here I was thinking I couldn't possibly feel older today.
@ingrid this is one of my favorite photos! thank you for it!
@ingrid oh, thanks for that! it's still one of our favorites
@ingrid "The Shredding Industry Icon" is also a powerful way to describe a band
@ingrid Yessssss! 🙌🏻
@ingrid Congrats! How did you come to learn of of the album? And do they know about your connection to it?
I pressed play on that first song and thought, "Wow, punk has gotten a lot more melodic than I remember." And then I got past the first 4 seconds!
@williampietri I was just scrolling on Bandcamp! Turns out we have a mutual friend and they showed someone in the band the photo, said it had their vibe, and the band loved it
@ingrid Oh wow, the personal connection! That's a delight.
@ingrid Oh yeah! I picked up the album on release too. Real good stuff. It's going in AOTD soon
So cool that your photo is going places :3
@ingrid wtf that music SLAPS
(the photo in question, which escaped containment at some point and sometimes people will be surprised to learn that I was the originator of it
