On registrars: I use Hover. Affiliate link to buy domain names a bit more cheaply:
I have had genuinely good tech support there and their UI is good.
@ingrid porkbun registers domains at cost, $24/yr for .technology. I've used them for one domain for half a year and will probably move my other domains there too
