feel like a bit of a dork for redesigning Networks of New York just going hard on Futura for typography but as far as field guide graphic design goes is there really a more iconic option
@ingrid Yes but something about the line spacing of the title feels off. Less space above "New York" and more space below it. But yes. Would buy.
@ingrid looks great
@ingrid this is a stellar direction, keep going imo
@ingrid love this book. I own two editions and i will buy the new one the moment it's available. I hesitate to weigh in but i don't love this cover as much as i love the book.
@ingrid after thinking a bit about my initial reaction here's what i think: personally i don't respond well to symmetry. maybe it's my contrarian personality. it feels too balanced. the horizonal spread of the font feels "shaggy" to me. lastly the color feels subdued and i feel like the overall impression is passive.
@quaad fair! The color will print brighter than it looks on screen but I hear you on the balance and the font
@ingrid For New York? Maybe the Gorton typeface? https://aresluna.org/the-hardest-working-font-in-manhattan/
is this anything
