Including footnotes I cleared 15,000 words on my silly little thesis tonight!! Excluding them I am about 800 words away. I might be overdoing it with the footnotes.

some other fun context for this story from someone in Dan Goldman's district: he was absolutely the most boring of all the candidates and won partly because of progressives splitting the vote and partly by expanding his name recognition by using his heir-to-the-Levi Strauss-fortune money to buy visibility. Dunking on Santos looks good on a national stage, and that's arguably more important to him than constituent services etc.
