Maersk, one of the shipping corporations at the center of the dockworkers strike, has recently spent over $6.5 billion on stock buybacks for its wealthy shareholders.

Last night a friend visiting from out of town casually mentioned some mutual friends had told her they were concerned that I've been isolating and that I'm not okay

Word on the storm impact from Helene in west North Carolina is that Internet just doesn't exist there. Every fiber path impacted, miles of fiber path gone, access roads to even start damage assessment are no longer there.

Network Engineers are saying days of work to get satellite trailers and basic e911 service restored. Weeks of work for Internet connectivity that even resembles normal.
