can i subscribe to a different instance than the one i'm on?
@oddletters the federated feed might be a better option, as this pulls in post from other instances as well, depending on who people follow on other instances on your local instance
@oddletters like to their users or following their local timeline? Latter is not possible afaik but as long as the server admin doesn’t block that instance or made it a closed one, you should be able to follow any account from any instance.

@oddletters you can subscribe to users on other instances, but I don't believe there is a mechanism to subscribe to every post on a remote instance.
@oddletters some mastodon clients support logging in to multiple instances. I'm still figuring out if that's the way to go but seems like it could work out. I use Toot for iOS. I also tried the web-based client pinafore.social
@oddletters You're administering everything.happens.horse, right? In that case you can subscribe to a relay that carries the instance you're interested in. If there isn't one, then nope

@oddletters for the local feed? I doubt it. AFAIK you have to migrate to another server for that. I don't really read the local feed tbh.
