turns out i never did an post: hi, i'm mols. i'm an academic working in the science and technology studies/comm studies/info studies space. i do work on the philosophy, theory, and history of digital technologies and "innovation economies." i used to write a lot about digital activism. i'm currently on book leave writing about the role of east coast financiers in the development of venture capital policy in the 1970s. you can find most of my work at oddletters.com

crossposting here from bsky: does anyone know anything about SAnet, a local ISP in southern Arkansas that may have started in 1994/spun out of a bbs based in El Dorado, AR? it may also have been known as ELDONet

you can find my original thread explaining the main points of this paper here (my account accepts all follow requests, more or less)

im reviewing an ms for a scholarly press and the thing that is bugging me the most is how badly the author appears to have misunderstood THE MATRIX

today we discussed IMPERIAL SAN FRANCISCO in my graduate reading seminar on technogentrification and im just really proud of all my students

that's all ☺️

165 pound squat today! if you would really like to mess up your perspective on weights and measures, i recommend lifting, because i just looked at that number and sincerely thought 'eh, that's ok _i guess_'

because i have never even _thought_ about this but it seems like every other post that features a photo of a ceramic with a crazed glaze has folks jumping into the comments yelling about "bacteria and mold"

Show thread

does anyone know why reddit is obsessed with "mold and bacteria" getting into cracks in ceramic dishes?

_on campus food services maybe corruption_

_definitely gonna get my sandwich back and not result in me getting fired_
