I am stressed about Twitter imploding! I know it's fun to joke around and all, but I spent 10 years building a platform there. I'm not famous enough that people will follow me anywhere I go. It was the only place I had to reliably promote my work AND the "platform" I referenced when I pitched books and podcasts. I know this isn't all about me or whatever but... man it is stressful!

@roseveleth i had some meetings with editors last weekend and i was like "well i used? to have? a couple thousand twitter followers?" and i do not know how promo for the new book is going to go

@oddletters exactly! I have a book proposal that's going out in a couple months and I guess I might just have to.... delete? the section about my platform????

@roseveleth @oddletters pointing out you've been on Mastodon since [2018(?)] might really help w/ publishers. you can show marketing&publicity that you were ahead of the curve (especially since no one has a measure on what a masto following even is or means)
