@scattermoon try using a different client - the backend on masto is entirely separate to the frontend, and the API is open. So you don't have to use the mastodon.social website to have an account there. Pinafore.social is a good client, lots of app clients etc too.
@chican3ry @flippac @scattermoon Yeah, but are you going to get all of them? If the tweet federates then your instance won't get the headers(I think? I'm not a fedi expert)
@chican3ry @flippac @scattermoon OTOH I like fedi not being wide participation(or my part of it), and reports of twitters(the communitiy, not the company) death continue to be greatly exagerated.
@chican3ry @flippac @scattermoon The key missing affordance is full text search, which would enable you to see who QT'd your tweet. Not being able to see who QT'd your tweet when it's still possible is more dangerous in a wide-participation social media site I think.
@scattermoon the on ramp is STEEP tbqh
@scattermoon thankfully you can do multi account, like @chican3ry @chican3ry or just follow/interact across servers.
@scattermoon (but also instance matters a lot- my instance is like 10 people who are friends, yours should be stable but also full of randos. Thankfully it's quite easy to move instance now)
@scattermoon i think i just said that the fediverse is like a community accountability process, and i was right: Twee, unstable, racist, and sometimes useful.
@scattermoon Witches town died completley in a burst of fedi drama like three years ago sadly.
@russss I didn't realise it was royal london! Massive fan of the trauma/A&E there in general.
Trans Safety, media advisory
There is an ITV documentary crew doing the rounds looking for trans people using DIY HRT sources.
While there are no clear red flags it's worth asking:
1. What would you be getting in return for being put at risk by being on camera?
2. What Trans input is there into the questions addressed by this documentary content? Are they seriously including our views or are they just gawping at the desperate state of our healthcare?
3. What have they done to build trust?
As you might know, I am full time internet.
