@ingrid I am prone to these things and always have to back it up with "don't curse the child don't curse the child."
But I DO sometimes hope that these people's kids grow up and cut all contact and live happier and freer lives.
My best self, on rare days, hopes that the person then learns from this experience and reconciles. Better than my dad did.
