I've been struggling with the conclusion partly bc I'm worried my advisor is going to veto my dead white guy pick for a theory grounding (Polanyi, with some assists from the very much alive Keller Easterling and Anna Tsing) which is maybe paranoid of me but we'll get there

I haven't been very good at keeping track of word counts the last week and change but I am currently working on the conclusion and appendix, waiting for feedback on the introduction!!
intro + chapters word count is 54,399 so I should be in the 60-65K zone for the whole text.

I don't have a ton of personal attachment to the White House as a building but this whole debacle reminded me of an art history prof I had in college who hated the IM Pei pyramid outside the Louvre b/c for generations ppl could see and experience that space in the same way that ppl in Napoleonic France had, and that continuity to history resonated with him.
